..unveils new acting Chairman of Ward 11



The Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, (SSG) Habibat Adubiaro has pledged more empowerments to members of ward 11, especially the aged, under the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC.

Adubiaro gave the assurance on Thursday while presenting envelopes of honorarium to regular 20 members in the ward meeting which include Widows, aged men/women, in Ado-Ekiti, state capital.

The SSG noted that upon her assumption to office, she has been paying monthly salaries to some beneficiaries in the ward, and has secured job opportunities for many.

The highpoint of the ward meeting was the unveiling of Femi Oguntoyinbo as the Ward 11 acting Chairman of the party, following the suspension of Oba Adegoke over contempt of constituted authority.

She said the acting Chairman will serve for 3 months pending the local government elections come december, 2023.

She charged members of the ward to support the new acting Chairman and tasked Oguntoyinbo to always work towards achieving the six-point agenda of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

In her words, “I’m glad that I come from Ado-Ekiti, ward 11 because ward 11 is the most fortunate.

“The first Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji is from this ward, we are very fortunate.

“We are all one, if there’s any glitches between us, we should be able to amend and scold eachother.

“I asked the former chairman to write some names but he refused to inform the leaders before doing so. He did it on his own accord and when I challenged him, he disrespected me and told me to do my worse.

“I informed the leaders and they said he must serve punishment for a temporary time.

“We will continue to progress in the good work in ward 11 and other wards for the benefit of Ekiti State.”

On his part, the new acting Chairman, Femi Oguntoyinbo promised to serve the members with loyalty and not to contempt the constituted authority of the state.

While calling for peace in the forthcoming local government election, the pioneer APC Chairman of Ado-West Local Council Development Area, Adeyemi Taiwo, popularly known as Alagba appealed to members of the ward to cooperate with the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to ensure fair and fair election.

The ward meeting also had the unveiling of two members of the ward who are contesting for Counselorship election namely Omobola Ajayi and Daramola Tolulope.
