Former senator and social activist, Shehu Sani, has urged the World Football Governing Body, FIFA to investigate the allegation of “juju” (charm) usage by the goalkeeper of the Ivory Coast national team, Yahia Fofana in the just concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

According to Senator Shehu on his X handler, “FIFA should investigate the alleged use of Juju by the Ivory Coast Goalkeeper as circulated in the images and take measures. If FIFA failed to do so, next time we should go with the crew of our native Doctors”.


Meanwhile, in a video that has been circulating on social media shows something allegedly fetish around the Ivorian goalkeeper, Yahia Fofana’s waist while playing in one of the matches.

The black material around his waist, secured with a white rope, was visible at the back of the goalkeeper,

Reports showed how Nigeria’s national football team, Super Eagles was defeated on Sunday night during the AFCON final match.

The team captain, Ahmad Musa wrote, “despite the twists and turns of the game, the team stood strong, displaying resilience and determination that resonated with fans across the nation.

“To all our incredible supporters, your unwavering dedication and chants lifted us higher than ever before. Your passion for the game and for our country is truly inspiring.
