Nigerian singer, Teni took to her Instagram account to humorously caution South African football team about the challenge they will face in the upcoming AFCON match against Nigeria on Wednesday.

With a touch of humour, Teni confidently stated that Nigeria’s team would make South Africa “dance amapiaono on field.”

Playfully attributing a potential mood shift in Nigeria to the Grammy Awards, Teni questioned whether the prestigious event was attempting to “kill our groove,” jokingly expressing concern over the situation.

In her post, Teni humorously exclaimed, “Wahala wa o, there’s a problem. Grammy wa o, we’ve had parties upon parties and we still have a party for tonight, we have many many parties. I personally have like 5 for tonight. Grammy, are You trying to kill our groove? See, South Africa, you are in for it. Osimhen over to you, Lookman, over to you. South Africa you will dance amapiaono on field. The sky is crying, Grammy whyyy?”

Teni’s playful remarks come in the wake of Nigerian singer Davido’s loss in all three categories at the Grammy Awards, including the African Music Performance of the Year category, won by Tyla.

Other Nigerian nominees such as Burna Boy, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr also experienced losses in their respective categories.
