Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s approach to tackling insecurity, asserting that it would be futile to adopt the same strategy as his predecessor.
Adebanjo, speaking during a condolence visit to the residence of Late Chief Solomon Lar in Jos, expressed concerns about the persistent security challenges and stressed the need for decisive action rather than repeating “marching orders.”
While speaking, he emphasized the importance of arresting and prosecuting those behind the killings to effectively address the security crisis.
Drawing parallels with Buhari’s tenure, Adebanjo urged Tinubu to focus on tangible actions rather than issuing directives. He further emphasized the necessity of holding perpetrators accountable for lasting solutions.
During the visit, Adebanjo consoled the people of Plateau State who lost loved ones in the recent attacks and highlighted the legacy of peace and justice left by Late Solomon Lar.
Prof Mary Lar, the wife of the former Governor, expressed gratitude for the visit, citing the historical friendship between the Lar family and the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
