…pledges support to the Provost


The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, His Royal Majesty,Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, Afuntade 1, has commended the Federal Government for the establishment of a Federal College of Education in Ilawe Ekiti.

Alawe, in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, expressed appreciation in his palace on Friday while making a formal announcement of the establishment of the Institution to the people of the town.

The Monarch stated that the College will serve in the training and production of thorough-bred teachers for Ekiti and Nigerians as a whole, adding that its establishment came as a result of the several requests made to the Federal government on the establishment of a higher institution in Ilawe Ekiti by the Alawe which started some time in 2016 and supported by patriotic Ilawe indigenes.

He emphasized that all hands have been put on deck to provide a conducive environment for academic activities in the newly established Federal College of Education.

“The Institution marks another federal presence in Ekiti State and a positive development in Ilawe.

“Meanwhile a ten- man committee to over see a seamless take off of the institution is being set up.” The statement added.

The Federal government has also named Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube Provost, for the new College of Education, whose tenure according to a document from the Federal Ministry of Education has begun.

Alawe pledged his support to the Provost in ensuring success in the course of his administration.

Dr Ikuejube was an Acting Provost of the Adeyemi College of Education ,Ondo. He’s an experienced lecturer, Vice-Dean, Dean and Chairman of committee of Deans among other positions while at the Adeyemi College of Education,Ondo. He has authored not less than eighty (80) publications.
