The Nigerian Army is set to conduct screening and verification for the award of scholarships to the children of deceased personnel.
The screening process will take place at the Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess 1 in Asokoro, Abuja, according to a statement from the Department of Army Administration.
This scholarship initiative is part of the welfare schemes of the Nigerian Army, aimed at ensuring the education of the children of personnel who lost their lives in active service.
The Army has encouraged both new applicants and beneficiaries seeking to upgrade their educational levels to participate in the screening process.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that, successful candidates will receive sponsorship funds appropriate for their respective educational levels and the required documents for the screening include a handwritten application for sponsorship, admission letter of the beneficiary, last school report card/results, confirmation letter from the school, birth certificate of the beneficiary, death certificate of the deceased personnel, Part 2 Orders publication of death, condolence letter, notification of casualty signal, and other relevant forms.
