The winner of BBN Season 7, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has issued a public apology for the controversy sparked by her controversial comments on abortion.

The reality star admitted her mistake and regretted making a generalization during an interview, in which she suggested that “all” women have undergone abortion.

Phyna clarified that she did not intend to project this generalization on all women and emphasized her disapproval of abortion, particularly in regions where it can be life-threatening due to illegal and unsafe procedures.

In her statement, Phyna expressed remorse for her miscommunication during the interview and assured that she is focused on self-improvement, mentioning her collaboration with gender-based organizations and non-governmental organizations to provide education and awareness about abortion and other societal issues affecting girls.

Phyna stated, “I admit that I was being too expressive in the heat of the interview, hence my assertions. I will reiterate that abortion is not a thing I stand for, and I should not be seen in that light, and I admit to all mistakes made. In addition, I’m currently working with gender-based organizations and NGOs to provide sensitization and education about abortion and other societal issues affecting the girl child.”
