The Ekiti State Government has urged workers in the state to be innovate and productive in order to make Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration a success.

The Deputy Governor of the State, Monisade Afuye, in a statement signed by her special assistant on media, Victor Ogunje on Monday stated these in Ado Ekiti, while declaring open a one-day in-house training organised for all the workers in her office.

Afuye noted that Oyebanji considered the civil servants as the engine room of government in policy execution, which further necessitated the government to provide good welfare packages for civil servants to actualise the dream of turning Ekiti into a cynosure of all eyes in service delivery.

The Deputy Governor noted that there is no excuse for failure, urging the workers to consider themselves as allies and partners to Governor Oyebanji in the task of building Ekiti that would attain and savour socio-economic development and political stability in all facets.

Speaking on the importance of the seminar, Afuye said it was conceived to sharpen the mental capacities of workers and broaden their horizons, for optimal service delivery expected in the civil service.

It was also organised to accommodate refreshing learnings in basic tenets of Public Service Rules and Regulations, Protocol and Security Management and tips on basic healthcare delivery.

Her words: “The office considers it necessary to put together this training at this crucial time to curtail the ugly trend of misbehaviour pervading the service; to encourage officers handling issues relating to your welfare and wellbeing to improve on their strategies and to expose you to less expensive ways of living a healthy life.

“The third pillar of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s government is Human Capital Development. It is aimed at developing the proficiency of workers across the public service. That is why we brought this training to your doorstep.

“Given the foregoing, I advise you to maximize the opportunity provided by this training to equip yourselves well for proper handling of your official duties. After this, I won’t entertain any excuse or lapse or failure”. she cautioned.
