Super Eagles striker,.Victor Boniface has secured a spot in the Bundesliga Team of the Week after helping Bayer Leverkusen defeat FC Cologne 3-0 at the weekend.
After firing blanks in two consecutive games, Boniface was on target in the home win against Cologne.
The 22-year-old scored Leverkusen’s third goal in the 67th minute.
The win place Leverkusen in first position on 19 points, one point ahead of Stuttgart on the log.
Following his impressive display, whoscored.com listed Boniface in their best 11 for the week.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise star spearhead a three-man attack in a 3-4-3 formation.
Boniface is expected in the Super Eagles camp in Portugal ahead of their doubleheader friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
They will first take on Saudi Arabia on Friday, 13 October before facing Mozambique on Monday, 16 October, 2023.
He marked his debut for the Eagles with an assist in the 6-0 win against São Tomé and Principe in September ,in Uyo.
