The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly is dead.
A statement by the Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, Wednesday evening stated that Rt. Hon Afuye died at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado- Ekiti, where he was receiving treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Rt. Hon Afuye was conspicuously missing at today’s plenary of the House of Assembly, where his Deputy, Rt. Hon Hakeem Jamiu presided over the business of the day
Afuye, 66, a seasoned politician, was a former Commissioner, Ekiti State Ministry of Information and two- time member of the State Assembly. He was inaugurated Speaker of the sixth Assembly on June 6, 2019.
