The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have saved a Peddler Truck conveying 11,000 Litres of automated Gas Oil from causing explosion this morning at Jakande 1st Gate, Lekki–Epe Expressway, Lagos.

In a statement by the Chief Fire Officer in Lagos State, Ogabi Olajide, the Truck with registration number FKJ 703 XF, caught fire while on motion, when heading inward Ajah.

However, the swift response of the Lekki Phase l Fire Crew of the Agency ensured that only the cabin, where the Fire emanated from was affected while other sections of the Truck and contents were saved.

NEWSTODAYNG gathered that there is no casualty as both the driver and his assistant escaped injury while the cause could be traced to mechanical fault.

To this end, the team of Policemen from Ilasan Police Division and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority were on hand to bring the operation to a logical conclusion.
