A Catechist identified as Oliver Vershima has been arrested by security operatives in Benue State after he was caught with the dead body of a lady, he allegedly impregnated.
According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, Vershima had impregnated the young girl and in an attempt to abort the pregnancy, she lost her life on Sunday morning before Mass.
Vershima reportedly concealed the girl’s body inside his room throughout the day, with intentions of removing it from the village and potentially fleeing.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the catechist has been handed over to the Parish priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Kente, at the press time of filing this report.
