Chelsea have finally acquired their man as the club announced that Wesley Fofana had passed his medical and was the club’s new signing.

The Frenchman comes to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea and Leicester City agreed a fee in the region of £70m.

The 21 years old defender is seen as a bright prospect in football, and this would explain why Leicester City held on to him for so long before agreeing to a proper deal.
He is the perfect addition for Thomas Tuchel’s side, which is keen to revamp after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the summer.

Fofana will now join the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Thiago Silva at the heart of Chelsea’s defence with Marc Cucurella signed from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer.

Speaking for the first time as a Chelsea player, Fofana said: ‘The two last days have been really big days for me and I’m very happy. I trained this morning with the team and it’s a dream for me.”

“I’m very excited to start playing games for the fans and the club. ‘I’m here to win trophies – the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, everything. I came here to win and the club is built to win trophies so I’m here to continue that.”
