A former student of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, Joy Bishara, who escaped Boko Haram abduction in 2014, just got engaged to her lover in the United States.
NEWSTODAYNG recall that a total of 276 female students aged from 16 to 18 were kidnapped by the terrorist group in 2014 and about 57 of the schoolgirls escaped by jumping from the trucks on which they were being transported.
However, Bishara and her cousin, Lydia Pogu, who were among those who escaped the attack that caught global attention, relocated to United States where she graduated from Southeastern University and obtained a degree in social work in 2021.
Photos of Bishara’s lover going on his knee to propose to her at a beach have gone viral, eliciting congratulatory messages from well-wishers.
