The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has called on politicians to stop the campaign of calumny and rather invest into the state by coming home to contest elections.
Governor Wike stated this in Port Harcourt during the official commissioning of the VIP lounge at the International Airport Rivers state. According to Governor Wike, It is not enough to sit in Abuja and support a party or candidate verbally rather anybody interested in political positions should come home and do the needful.
He said: ” We have been commissioning and flagging off projects across the state, these projects should be done by the federal government but we have done it and don’t be surprised tomorrow they may lock us out of here tomorrow because of one order from above from Abuja”
He encouraged businessmen, politicians and Celebrities going in and out of the state to make judicious use of the lounge.
He also used the medium to warn rumour mongers to stop spreading unverified stories about him to the public.
” Everyday you wake up and Wike is all over the news, Wike said this Wike’s camp said that even though I have not said anything. I am not looking for Ministerial positions and so anybody that wants position should leave their comfort zone and come home to participate in the elections, join the a political party, campaign and win its very simple.”
Governor Wike also promised that his administration will continue to embark on projects that will be of benefit to the people of the state.
