…urges Residents to pay Tax for more community projects

The Executive Chairman of Ado Central Local Government Council Area, Engr. Toyin Ojo, has confirmed that the creation of LCDAs has provide opportunities for career progression among civil servants and addressed redundancy.

The Chairman stated this on Thursday while addressing Newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Engr. Ojo confirmed that most LCDAs now needed more staff to work with unlike before when workers were alleged of not having much to do.

Engineer Ojo hailed the past administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi for the creation of LCDAs, adding that it has enabled the people at the grassroots to familiarise themselves with the government.

He also commended the efforts of Governor Oyebanji since his assumption to office, saying he has made himself significant among others and a blessing to Ekiti residents.

While reiterating his commitment to developing the LCDA, he noted that 70 Solar Street Lights would be installed in the community soon.

He therefore called on the Residents to continue to pay their taxes for more community Projects.

In his words, “The creation of LCDA has brought development to the grassroots, like this place now, two years ago was not like this but today, the place has been transformed.

“We have bypassed the stage where we would say there were much workers with limited works but reverse is the case now.

“We have limited people doing the work of many people in the Council. We are even looking for a way to write the Governor to give us the approval to employ our own cadre.

“Our dear Governor has been tremendous, there is no file I submitted on his table without him approving. He would approve it so far the projects are for the development of the people. So, I can say Oyebanji is a Godsent, I’m not condemning our past Governors but, with the six months he has spent, I have seen the difference.

“By the end of this week or next week, we’ll be having about 70 solar Street lights that will be installed.

“I therefore appeal to my people to continue to pay their taxes as and when due so that our Council can develop the more, as we are currently experiencing.”
