The management of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU), has disclaimed the news making the rounds about the linkage of one Agboola Seun Stephen to some officials of the university.

Agboola Seun Stephen, in a statement by the Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun was arrested by the Police for engaging in theft by deception, passport racketeering and threats to lives.

The management noted that he was alleged to be exploiting the names of Dr Ola Abegunde, Professor Femi Omotoso and that of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun in his nefarious activities to swindle unsuspecting victims.

The statement reads, “The attention of the Management of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti has been drawn to a trending news online linking one Agboola Seun Stephen to some officials of the university.

“According to the online report, the said Agboola was apprehended by the Police for engaging in theft by deception, passport racketeering and threats to lives.

“The suspect (Agboola) was alleged to be exploiting the names of Dr Ola Abegunde, Professor Femi Omotoso and that of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun in his nefarious activities to swindle unsuspecting victims.

“Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti wishes to clarify that Agboola Seun is not on the university’s payroll and has no relationship with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun. Also, the university has not received any complaint from any of its students about any infraction of such as raised by the suspect.

“It should be noted that the current Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Edward Olanipekun has zero tolerance for any act of malfeasance and will continue to uphold the integrity of the university.

“The security personnel are hereby enjoined to ensure that justice is served accordingly.”
