Drama unfolded at the Lagos International Airport, causing a stir as a vigilant traveler exposed a Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) staffer red-handed, attempting to slip drugs into his bags.
The victim, who was about to embark on an international journey, became an unwitting pawn in the illicit operation orchestrated by the airport worker.
Upon discovering the official’s suspicious actions with his bags, the quick-thinking passenger raised an alarm and promptly informed the popular blog Sabiradio. A video circulating on social media captures the tense confrontation, with fellow airport workers and onlookers questioning the suspect.
In the midst of the interrogation, the passenger, whose luggage was targeted for drug smuggling, delivered a forceful slap to the FAAN staff member. The official, cornered and under scrutiny, claimed that someone had paid him to facilitate the illicit delivery of drugs overseas.
Demanding answers, the traveler pressed the airport worker to reveal the nature of the drugs and disclose the identity of the person who paid him. The intention was to ensure the apprehension of the individual involved in drug trafficking.
Expressing gratitude that the staff was apprehended, the traveler emphasized the potential consequences, stating, “Either it is their usual operation to set people up, but today they met their match. As I began to create a scene at the whole airport, they knew someone was watching.”
