Following the explosion that rocked the city of Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo state on Tuesday night, a source has said the blast was caused by dynamites in the area.
The source said the explosion was caused by a fire outbreak in a house which spread to another house that had dynamites used by some miners, who are residents of the area.
The fire touched the dynamites and immediately grounded the houses after the blast.
The source also confirmed death of some residents while the injured are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
The source added that Ace Mall did not collapse, noting that thr building is far from the site and only witnessed an impact of the explosion just as Dominos, and some other properties did.
Search operations are currently ongoing by Security officials and emergency workers to rescue other people who are still trapped under the rubble.
