Following the recent impeachment of former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, the Edo State government has demolished the security post at his residence.

NEWSTODAYNG gathered that officials from the Edo State Network and Public Works Volunteers, allegedly took part in the demolition, which occurred in the Government Reservation Area, Benin City.

The demolished security post, adjacent to a golf course and part of Shaibu’s residence, was removed on the grounds that, as a private citizen, he no longer requires such official privileges.

Despite speculation linking the demolition to the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, Commissioner Eta Uzamere has denied any involvement from his department and also an aide to Shaibu criticized the action, stating that the security outpost was privately built and not government-funded.
