The Western Nigeria Security Network code named Amotekun Ekiti State has apprehended a 50year old man, Celestine Nwoha with fake #1000 naira notes.
The Suspect, according to the commander of the corps, Rtd Brigadier Joe Komolafe was arrested in Omuo Ekiti, Ekiti East local Government after he attempted to deposit the notes via POS.
In his words, “The suspect went to local area in Omuo and started spending the money before we got a hint and went after him.
“He said he specializes in buying kola and bitter Kola saying he was also paid with the cash in Lagos.
“On interrogation he confessed to the crime and said he was given two hundred and fifty thousand from a factory in Lagos but only one hundred thousand naira was found with him as he had spent some.
The Amotekun Boss said the command would hand him over to the police for further investigation.
Komolafe thereby urged members of the public to be careful especially during the current cash crunch so as not to fall victim.
When contacted, the suspect, who is from Ihiala Local Government in Anambra state, confessed to have gotten the money from someone in Lagos State whom he did not mention the name.
