…flag to fly at half mast
The Ekiti State House of Assembly on wednesday evening, announced the death of its Speaker, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye.
According to a statement made available to Newsmen in Ado-Ekiti at exactly 9pm on Wednesday night by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Publicity, Hon Yemisi Ayokunle, “the Speaker died after a brief illness on wednesday evening in Ado-Ekiti.
The statement declared a 7-day mourning period in honour of the departed Speaker, while the flag in the Assembly complex shall fly at half mast.
Ayokunle described the Speaker “as an embodiment of courage, excellence and a highly commited man to public service will be greatly missed,” the statement concluded.
