Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun has charged workers in his Ministry to rededicate themselves to duty and work harmoniously as a team towards effective service delivery in the New Year.
Olatunbosun who gave the charge in Ado-Ekiti during his maiden meeting with the management and staff of the Ministry in the New Year, described Biodun Oyebanji as a workers-friendly Governor committed to the welfare of the State workforce, adding that it is incontrovertible that the recently approved new public service salary structure by the State Government, remains one of the most favourable in the country.
Stressing that the Oyebanji administration has also achieved a great number of remarkable milestones since inception which has impacted positively on the lives of residents of the State, Olatunbosun assured that the State would witness series of outstanding development in all sectors in the new year and set to take a leading role in the comity of States going by the plans slated in the year N375.7 billion budget, tagged Budget of Sustainable impact.
The Commissioner therefore urged Information Officers attached to MDA’s to upscale their activities through effective and timely reportage of government’s programmes and policies, stressing that staff of the ministry must brace up and work out effective strategies that would properly inform people of the State and the global space of the administration’s giant strides to prevent ambiguity and engender understanding.
According to him, the Ministry’s activities would focus more on field-work this year, as government poised to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
He said “to whom much is given, much is definitely expected. Today information is ubiquitous, countless and changing constantly. It is our responsibility to properly inform the people of Government’s policies, programmes and activities to keep the people abreast, allowing them to think about issues, consider implications and formulate their views”.
“All I ask is loyalty and commitment to Ekiti and your duties and I promise that your welfare is secured”.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Mr. Olusesan Alabi expressed appreciation to the Governor Oyebanji for his people-oriented Programmes and for faithfully pursuing his share prosperity agenda.
The Permanent Secretary who also expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for creating an enabling environment for worker to perform creditably, pledged the continued loyalty of staff to their duties and commitment to achieving the vision and mission of the Ministry.
High point of the event was the offering of special prayers for the State Government, Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his team as well as for the leadership of the Ministry for a successful year 2025.
