Staff and leadership at the Adeyinka Adebayo General Hospital, Iyin EKiti beamed with excitement and pride as they celebrated Ronke Agbeyo on the occasion of her send forth and retirement from active service.

The event which held on the 20th of December 2022 at the grounds of the General Adebayo General Hospital, Iyin Ekiti was graced by the Medical Director of the Hospital, Mr. Akintayo, Deputy Director Medical Laboratory Service, Kolawole Olajide amongst other dignitaries.

Speaking, Agbeyo expressed gratitude to God for grace to serve without any form of implication in the past 35 years, from the journey that began in 1987 at the General Hospital, Ido Ekiti.

“I thank God that I finished well. Most of the people I started with, are now dead. Despite my constant plying of the dangerous Iyin road(atomoso).

“I am just grateful to God for his mercy upon my life that enabled me to spend 35 years on the job without any form of implication whatsoever. I just want to return glory to God.”

Chairman, Association of Medical Laboratory Technician and Assistance of Nigeria (AMELTAN) Mr. Arowolo Femi in his remark said, “I have never had cause to complain about Mrs Agbeyo and always enjoyed our interactions. She is indeed a shinning example”

The Head of Department, Medical Laboratory Service, Longe Ojo only had praise for her and prayed that God continue to abide with her as she retires into good health, more achievements and long life.

Ronke Agbeyo, the wife of the former Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in Ekiti state, Gbenga Agbeyo was described by her siblings, neighbors- staff and friends as a very dutiful, humble and virtuous woman.

This send forth is noteworthy in the department of Medical Laboratory Service history as it was the first time a retiree will be honored in this manner.

The guests were entertained by the hospital’s cultural troupe’s display and presentation of gift to the celebrant.
