doles out palliatives to Oke-Ayedun residents

 

 

The first female gubernatorial candidate in Ekiti State, Erelu Kemi Elebute-Halle has been bestowed with chieftaincy title of ‘Erelu Bobaseye of Oke-Ayedun Ekiti’.

The former Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the 2022 governorship election, was conferred with the title by the the Alaaye of Oke-Ayedun, Oba Olufemi Aribisala, at the 38th Oke-Ayedun Day 2024.

Her husband, Otunba Haim Halle was also conferred with the chieftaincy title of Aare Bobaseye of Oke-Ayedun.

 

Speaking with journalists, Erelu Elebute-Halle pledged to continue to work for the development of the community, while thanking the monarch for deeming it fit to confer on her such title

Her words, “We are proud to have you, you have brought a lot of development to Oke-Ayedun Kingdom. You have outstandingly achieved what our great grandfathers were not able to achieve, we are proud of us for being a pioneer of development in our community.

“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the Governor of our state and his family, Biodun Abayomi.

“When I discussed this title with him, looking at the projects, community developments, politics that I am into and he told me that there’s no title I can attain that will be more than that of my Town.

“I will not take this title for granted, I will do everything within my capacity to bring in more developmental projects to Oke-Ayedun Ekiti.”

Erelu Elebute-Halle donated palliatives in form of food items to residents of Oke-Ayedun including rice, garri, salt, among others.

The Chairman of the occasion and Special Adviser to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Political and Inter Party Affairs, Chief Jide Awe reiterated the commitment of the State government to the development of the community.

Highlights of the occasion include the admission of new Egbe Omo Ilu, Egbe Alajodun 2024, Ebi Alajodun 2024, award of Omo Ayiye of Oke-Ayedun/Pa Joseph Onipede’s scholarship awards, among others.
