The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Ekiti State Council, has elected Ezekiel Oni as new Chairman and other new officials, that will stir the wheel of the union for the next one year.

The bye-election which held today, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital was conducted by a National Officer, NANNM, Toba Odumosu Oloruntoba and the State Executive Council members, who constituted the voters.



At the end of the peaceful exercise, Ezekiel Oni, who ran unopposed emerged Chairman while Orolu Sesan was elected as Vice Chairman.

Others are; Mrs Ipinlaye as Auditor 1, Mrs. Johnson Febisola as Auditor 2 while Mrs Olaoluwa Odunayo emerged PRO.



In his acceptance speech, Oni vowed to prioritise the welfare of the Nurses’ by engaging the state government to implement the full COHESS for Primary Healthcare Nurses.

He assured members that his time would be a productive and remarkable reign, and urged them to support the new administration.

His words: “Our leadership will engage government on the need to prioritise the welfare of the entire Nurses in Ekiti State wherever they work.

“Other areas such as Welfare that bothers on full implementation of full CONHESS for Primary Healthcare Nurses, consideration of non-approval of Nurses at HMB, payment of outstanding salaries and deductions etc.”

The State Secretary, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Ayenioye Olabisi welcomed the new leaders on board and charged them to lead Nurses aright.

Similarly, the National Officer, implored members of the association to give the officers the maximum support by ensuring that they collectively achieve their goals and objectives.
