The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in Ekiti State, Alhaji Riko Shuaibu has appealed to the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji to support the scheme in providing a befitting ultra modern hall for the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ise-Orun/Emure.

Alhaji Riko made this appeal at the 2023 Corps Employers’ Workshop tagged “Optimizing the Productivity of Corps Members through Enhanced Welfare and During the Service Year”, held on tuesday at the Hassanat Event Centre, Basiri Ado Ekiti.

Riko noted that his administration has placed high priority on the welfare of Corps Members and staff in all ramifications.

In his words, “Our darling corps members are made to receive lectures under the trees, this is not ideal in this modern-day dispensation and most especially; in the land of Honour.

“Kindly come to our aid in this regard. Nothing is too small to support this noble project which will give the state a good image among it’s pairs”. He said

Riko also enjoined Corps Employers’, Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers as well as other stakeholders to play their respective roles in providing welfare and securing the lives and properties of Corps Members.

He further charged Corps Employers to reduce drastically in the culture of rejection and underutilization of Corps Members, by ensuring effective welfarism to enhance productivity and utilization of their potentials for national development.

Riko also urged Corps Members and stakeholders to support Corps Community Service project in order to yield grassroots development at their Host communities.
