The Ekiti State Sports Commission on Saturday commenced a keep fit exercise called ‘Fit For BAO, Fit For All’ for residents of the state in order to boost their health and well-being.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Sunday Ola acknowledged the importance of healthy living, adding that it would be done on a weekly basis for residents of the State irrespective of age and class.
The exercise, which will be taking place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, is geared towards keeping the residents fit and healthy.
He said: “Exercise generally is healthy. We will not deprive anyone for that. We had the younger ones, middle aged, youths, adults and the elderly ones. It is good for everyone and I feel relieved and refreshed after this exercise. If we are doing this, a lot of diseases won’t have space in your body.
“We really need it here in Ekiti going forward. Apart from environmental days, it’s going to be every Saturdays. We are still looking at a very workable timetable that will make it sustainable.
“I want to thank Governor Oyebanji for being here in such a time like this. I know Ekiti will benefit from it going forward. Our governor is a lover of sports and it is very necessary to tag it along with his name.”
