The Ekiti State Government has commenced a comprehensive data collection and collation exercise targeting unemployed youths, market women, okada riders, artisans and several other community stakeholders.
The State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun who revealed this in Ado Ekiti, said that the focus is to develop an all-inclusive database that can be used to develop strategic interventions and planning to effectively address unemployment in the State.
Stressing that inclusion in the data is open to a wide range of individuals including the unemployed, market vendors, private sector representatives, community leaders and persons with disabilities aged between 18 and 50years, Olatunbosun added that the exercise is also aimed at assisting in decision-making and identifying challenges faced by businesses, boost agriculture and digital innovations amongst others.
Olatunbosun explained that registration can be done in-person at the 16 Local Government Councils and 22 Local Council Development Area Headquarters or online through https://wealthcreation.ekiapps.ng, assuring that the initiative would transform employment landscape in the State.
The Commissioner emphasized that the programme would ensure even distribution of employment opportunities and other government interventions without bias, adding that registered people would benefit from future Government’s interventions.
He therefore urged youths in the State to take advantage of the opportunity provided to register in order to benefit from the development.
