In a bid to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of government officials, the Ekiti State Government has promised to provide the necessary facilities and support to ensure optimal performance across all government agencies.
This commitment was reiterated by the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, during a briefing session with officials from various ministries and agencies under her supervision.
Representatives from agencies such as the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Home Affairs, Human Capital Development Agency, Ekiti State Boundary Commission, Christians’ Pilgrimage Board, Muslims’ Pilgrimage Board, and the Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency were present at the meeting.
Afuye commended the officials for their dedication and hard work despite the challenges they face in discharging their duties. She emphasized the need for collaboration between government agencies and private organizations to enhance the impact of government interventions, especially in areas such as funding, training, and empowerment for unemployed youth.
While acknowledging the financial constraints facing the state, Afuye assured the officials of the government’s commitment to providing incentives and support to facilitate their work. She urged them to leverage partnerships with private bodies, international agencies, and political stakeholders to supplement government efforts.
In their briefings, the officials highlighted challenges such as low funding, shortage of utility vehicles, and inadequate office accommodation. They called on the government to address these issues to enable them to deliver effectively on their mandates.
Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo, in charge of the Human Capital Development Agency, pledged to collaborate with stakeholders to reduce unemployment by providing training facilities for applicants. He expressed readiness to work with organizations like the National Directorate of Employment and Bank of Industry to achieve this goal.
