Suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday was arraigned for alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Emefiele, who was brought by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) at 09:21am, is standing trial on a two-count charge of possessing a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a licence.
Emefiele was arraigned before the vacation judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
According to the report, the suspended apex bank governor has pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
