The former Emir of Kano State, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has finally cleared air why he refused to react following his dethronement as Emir on March 9, 2020 by the governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Sanusi stated that he refused to pass comments because the Emir title was temporary and transient, hence his reaction will place premium on people he referred to as ‘unimportant individuals’.
In his words, “It’s not because I don’t want to say anything but talking about it gives some certain importance to certain unimportant individuals.
“The reality is that if you go back to Greek philosophy and the rhetorics, what we call good life is fragile.
“What we need for human flourishing is temporary and transient.
“Anyone who doesn’t understand that they are temporary, is vulnerable to grief, anxiety and fear.”
NEWSTODAYNG recalled that Sanusi succeeded his great-uncle, Ado Bayero to the throne on 8 June 2014, and spent most of his reign advocating for cultural reform in Northern Nigeria.
However , he was dethroned on March 9, 2020 by the kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and replaced by Aminu Ado Bayero.
