In the midst of Mr Ibu’s recovery and the ongoing medical bills, a family dispute has emerged as the actor’s son, Daniel Okafor, refuted claims made by his stepmother, Stella Maris.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the controversy centers around control of the bank account designated for Mr Ibu’s medical donations.
The family drama unfolds amid the backdrop of Mr Ibu’s recent health struggles, which led to the amputation of one of his legs.
The actor’s family had sought financial assistance from well-wishers, and the situation has now become entangled in a public dispute over control of the donations account.
Speaking with Newsmen, Daniel Okafor, Mr Ibu’s second son, dismissed Stella Maris’s allegations that Jasmine, the actor’s adopted daughter, had seized control of the donation account.
Daniel asserted that he is the one managing the account as he is Mr Ibu’s next of kin.
Contrary to Stella’s statements on Instagram accusing Jasmine of manipulation, Daniel clarified,
“There is no truth in what Stella Maris has been sharing online.”
He emphasized that Jasmine does not have access to the account, and he, as the signatory and next of kin, is responsible for handling the financial aspects of his father’s medical bills.
He recalled that Stella Maris had previously claimed on social media that Jasmine manipulated her into giving up control of the account, but Daniel countered that Stella never had control in the first place.
