The family of a 65-year-old woman, Tunmise Oluyemi, resident in Ilesa, Osun State who was killed in her farm by suspected ritualists have refused police access to her body for autopsy.

The spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, in a statement confirmed the incident, adding that the assailants removed one of the eyes of the deceased.

She also stated that the policemen had visited the scene, noting that the complainant, Dare Oluyemi, and other children of the deceased refused to release the corpse to the police.

“They refused to allow the police take the corpse to a mortuary. They threatened violence and insisted they wanted to bury her.

“It was reported around 1pm on Monday to the police that one Tunmise Oluyemi, aged 65, who went missing last Saturday, was found dead on her farm at the Fadahunsi area of Ilesa around 11.30am.

“One of the eyes of the deceased was plucked out by the yet-to-be-identified assailants.” Opalola said.
