Two staffers of Midas Radio 90.5FM, Ado Ekiti, have bagged 3 awards at the Primus Media Awards in Southwest, Nigeria.

The keenly contested awards saw the emergence of Midas Radio’s Audio Producer and Studio Manager, Isreal Favour as Best Production Manager and Best Studio Manager in Southwest, Nigeria.

Favour won the awards among colleagues from across the 6 southwest states of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.

Midas Radio On-Air Personality, Claudius Daramola, also won the Male Listener’s Choice in Ekiti and Ondo states. Daramola won the award among heavyweights from Ekiti and Ondo states.

Receiving their awards, Favour and Daramola dedicated them to the Almighty who imbued them with their talents.

They expressed immense gratitude to their parents, siblings, friends, colleagues and associates, who had supported them all the way.

They also praised the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Midas Conglomerate, Kayode Olusemire, for providing them the platform to showcase their talents and skills to the world.

Some other Midas Radio nominees; Esther Isah and Bernard Fagbenro, rejoiced with their colleagues who won at the event and vowed to return with the awards next year.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Midas Conglomerate, Mr. Kayode Olusemire, felicitated the awardees for making the station proud in faraway Ibadan and once again bringing the station to the limelight.

Olusemire used the opportunity to promise continuous support for staff growth in the areas of welfare, updated equipment to work with, trainings, capacity building and more exposure to media trends across the globe.

He also challenged other staff members to continue to push themselves to the desired height of global standing.

Olusemire, who described Midas Radio as a cynosure, said the station would not relent in churning out excellent contents with the right personnel to manage them.

The tycoon added that Midas Radio will continue to nurture talents and welcome ideas that will keep the 24-hour station on the enviable position it has occupied in the league of broadcast outlets in Nigeria.

On his part, Head of News and Current Affairs, Midas Radio, Ayo Ayedun, said the awards are for the station and all staff members.

He appreciated the winners as well as the nominees for their dedication, courage, hardwork and ingenuity in their professional lives.

According to Ayedun, the sky is the limit for Midas Radio and the team of youngsters doing their best to continue to redefine broadcasting, not just in Ekiti, but in the entire country.

Also, Head of Programs, Content and Production, Oluwaseunfunmi Williams, said the feat is a sign of things to come for Midas Radio.

Williams charged other members of staff to seize every available opportunity both in and out of the station to develop themselves professionally.

The feat is coming after 8 months of commencement of full broadcast by the first 24-hour radio station in Ekiti State.

Primus City Media Awards, which is in its 4th year, is a platform to celebrate broadcasters below the age of 30 in Southwest, Nigeria.
