The federal government has assured Nigerians of drop in food prices and availability of comestibles in their quest to eradicate hunger in the land.

This was revealed by the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun while appearing on a live program on Channels Tv.

The Minister said a forum has been created, comprises of top stakeholders in the finance sectors to make sure that foods are available for Nigerian and prices are cut down to bearers minimum.

He said, “I will say that what we can look forward to in the weeks and even in the months an improvement in the situation.

“We can expect that food prices will come down, food availability will increase, that is commitment and focus of government.

“We have a group, I as a coordinating minister, under the presidential panel that is looking at social investment programmes not only we put in place a very robust and transparent method of paying people directly under the existing programme.

“We are also now sitting together and looking at food availability and nutrition under this particular circumstances”.
