Mimisen Iyorhe has become the first Nigerian to emerge as Fifa badged referee to feature in any fifa organised tournament for the first time in 19years.
The Benue State lady was the assistant to South African’s Akhona Makalima in Japan vs Netherlands in the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
She was the assistant referee 1 at the final game between South Africa and Morocco at WAFCON 2022.
It would be recalled that Chukwudi chukwujekwu was the last Nigerian referee to feature in any fifa Organized tournament, who was selected for the 2001 fifa U-17 world cup in Trinidad and Tobago.
