The FIFA World Cup trophy has arrived in Ghana this morning for a two-day tour led by former winner David Trezeguet.

The Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku received the delegation at the Kotoko International Airport.

The Minister said, “Ghana can win the World Cup in Qatar later this year. In Sha Allah, we will see the trophy returning to Ghana in December. The Black Stars will win the World Cup”.

Meanwhile, GFA President Kurt Okraku was happy with the arrival of the trophy and believes it will motivate the country to do well in Qatar.

“I feel energized and motivated. The feeling is good and I believe it will be transferred to the players ahead of the World Cup. All we need is for the country to be solidly behind us and we will do well,” he said.

David Trezeguet will be at the Polo Court in Accra where the trophy will be put on display to the public on Sunday with fans of the Black Stars having the chance to take photos with the real prize.

Ghana has been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
