The Ekiti State Government has reiterated that girl child education remains a potent tool for social transformation and sustainable development.
This was revealed by the wife of the Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, while discussing the factors limiting girl-child education in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.
Olayemi, duly represented by Prof. Mary Adedokun at the forum said the importance of educating both the male and female child cannot be overemphasized.
According to her, “For me, the importance of educating both male and female children cannot be overemphasized, as education is a fundamental right for all.
“It highlights efforts made by various bodies to achieve education for all. Many countries, especially those in sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia, are far from achieving this goal.
“The paper concludes that educating girls remains a potent tool for social transformation and sustainable development, and all hands must be on deck to ensure that the goal of education for all is achieved.” She said
