Renowned Nigerian chef and entrepreneur, Hilda Effiong Baci, has ignited a social media storm with comments made on a podcast that quickly went viral.

In the controversial discussion, Hilda asserted that Ghanaian women secretly prefer Nigerian men over their Ghanaian counterparts.

Claiming that Ghanaian women would choose Nigerian men when compared side by side, Hilda suggested that an influx of Nigerian men to Ghana might lead to Ghanaian men struggling to find wives.

Her bold statements during the podcast, particularly during a conversation with UK Ghanaian men, have triggered a strong reaction from Ghanaian tweeps.

The backlash from Ghanaian netizens challenges Hilda’s perspective, with many asserting that Nigerian men in Ghana are not perceived as the ‘trophies’ she portrayed.

Some critics argued that Ghanaian women find Nigerian men unattractive, often taking up menial jobs, contrary to Hilda’s claims.

Adding fuel to the controversy, Hilda Baci also expressed her preference for Nigerian Jollof over its Ghanaian counterpart during the podcast. She confidently stated that Ghanaian Jollof lacks flavour and falls short of the excellence she associates with Nigerian Jollof.

The podcast has since sparked a heated online debate, with social media users expressing diverse opinions on the matter.

Hilda’s remarks have fueled discussions not only on relationships but also on the ongoing Jollof rice rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana.
