Tragedy struck during the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations in Bauchi State as the son of the District Head of Miri, Muhammadu Ghani, was among the victims of a violent clash between two groups.

The clash erupted between Yan Ba Beli, an armed group assisting in combating bandits, and a group of hunters accompanying the District Head of Miri during a traditional procession to the Government House.

NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the confrontation escalated when Yan Ba Beli disrupted the procession, provoking the hunters who responded by firing their dane guns into the air. The exchange of gunfire resulted in fatalities, including the son of the District Head, who suffered a fatal injury to his head.

Security operatives intervened to quell the violence and apprehend suspects, but not before several others sustained injuries.
