The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaette Obot, has sentenced a Human Rights Lawyer and Activist, Inibehe Effiong, to one-month imprisonment for allegedly raising an objection in court.
It was gathered that Justice Obot had granted access of armed Policemen into the courtroom after a Premium Times Reporter was asked to leave during court proceedings.
Prior before the sentence Justice Obot asked Effiong’s wig and gown to be removed before writing a committal order to send him to one-month imprisonment in Uyo Prison.
The Human Rights Lawyer was in court to defend one Leo Ekpenyong in the libel suit filed by Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom
