Super Eagles Striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his disappointment following his team’s shock exit from F.A Cup.

The Foxes who were the 2021 Emirates FA Champion were deemed to be favourites to advance to the next stage of the competition but goals from Blackburn Rovers’ Tyrhys Dolan and Sammie Szmodics condemned Bredan Rodger’s side to a 5th-Round exit at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.

Iheanacho had got off the bench to score Leicester City’s only goal of the match although it proved insufficient to restore parity and guide his team to the next stage.

The Nigerian Striker shared his disappointment with LCTV after the match:

“I am so disappointed, I don’t even have the words now especially because we were at home.

“We did our bit but it was not enough. If you don’t do what you have to do, you get punished. We just have to look forward to the Premier League and do better,” Iheanacho added.

Iheanacho who has been in a red-hot form since January will now seek to pounce on relegation-threatened Southampton for three points when Leicester City travel to Saint Mary’s Stadium on Saturday for an English Premier league match.
