The new Commissioner of Police in the Ekiti state, Adeniran Akinwale, has pledged to adopt and utilise community-based policing and technological-driven security to fight bandits and kidnappers in the state.
CP Adewale revealed this on Tuesday during his first media parley with Journalists in the state.
The CP also condemned the gruesome murder of the two royal fathers; the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin and the Olumojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Olatunde Olusola and the abduction of school pupils and their teachers.
Speaking on ways to restructure the security tactics in the state, he said he will access its architecture and bring to bear the knowledge and experience he has accrued from his antecedents.
CP Akinwale added that all stakeholders in the state will be carried on board while all unmanned spaces in various communities will be operationally covered.
While ascertaining collaboration with Vigilante group, and other security agencies to confront criminals, he warned those in possession of life weapons to submit them to the appropriate authority else, will face the full wrath of law.
His words, “I will access the security architecture of the state and bring to bear the knowledge and experience I have gotten in the past.
“The security architecture will be reviewed where necessary, after proper x-ray and provide necessary to fight the enemies of the society.
“We will use multifaceted approach that will meet the test of time, and the people are ready to support me.
“Community based policing will be adopted and technological driven security will be utilised to tackle the monster.
“All stakeholders in the state will be carried on board while all unmanned spaces in various communities will be operationally covered with adoption and collaboration of Vigilante group, into the security architecture.
“Life weapons from the hands of deadly people will be recovered by means.
“Anyone in charge of illegal act is warned to submit them to the authority, if not, they will face the wrath of law.”
