…as Ekiti NUJ, Information Chapel celebrates Press Week in grand style
A Medical Expert, Dr Adedotun Ajiboye has called on Journalists and Nigerians not to engage in taking illicit drugs due to its harmful and negative effects on the body systems.
The Medical expert gave the advice in Ado Ekiti during a press week of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Information Chapel.
Dr Ajiboye noted that engaging in illicit drugs would result to early ageing, damage of liver, throat, kidney and cause eyes problem as well lead to death.
Speaking on theme “Managing Your Mental Health in a Stressful World”, Dr Ajiboye urged journalists to always engage in activities that would make them happy always, saying such would give them good mental health.
In his address of welcome, Chairman of NUJ, Information Chapel, Comrade Rotimi Feyisina said the topic of the lecture was selected to enlighten members of the chapel on the need to pay proper attention to their health by engaging in regular check and exercise.
In his goodwill message, Chairman of NUJ in Ekiti State, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela represented by the Secretary, Comrade kayode Babatuyi commended the efforts of Information Chapel for putting up the programme urging other chapels to follow suit.
Comrade Ojomoyela used the forum to commiserate with the families of those killed during robbery incident in Ikere Ekiti yesterday and charged media professionals to brace up and follow the new trend of journalism.
At the programme awards of excellence were presented to the Director General, Ekiti State Bureau of community Communications, Mary Oso-Omotosho and the Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi.
