The Organised Labour under the aegis of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, (TUC), have declared an indefinite nationwide strike from Monday, June 3rd over federal government’s failure to conclude negotiations on a new national minimum wage and reverse the surge in the electricity tariff.

This follows the decision of the unions when the federal government failed to meet the new national minimum wage expectations.

At briefing, leaders of the unions pleaded with Nigerians to bear with them, saying “Apologies for inconveniences but commitment to pursue the cause to its conclusion.”
