The Federal lawmaker, representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, Hon Femi Bamisile has tasked the security agencies to mount the right security architectures and prevent Ekiti from becoming a safe haven for criminals.

This came on the heels of the killing spree in Ado Ekiti metropolis within a spate of 48 hours.

The Chairman House Committee on Delegated Legislation, described the horrendous carnages as capable of sparking off panic and chase away investors from the state, if allowed to escalate exponentially.

He urged the security agencies to spread their dragnets  and tentacles around the state and bring those trying to make Ekiti a  killing field to justice.

Bamisile said these on Friday, while reacting to the shooting of  an Okada riders’ ticketing agent, a POS operator and Hausa trader at different sections of Ado Ekiti, in a suspicious and terrifying manners in the last four days.

Ruing how the victims were mowed down by these gun-wielding marauders, Bamisile said such action was gradually creating a frenzy atmosphere of panic and fear that could affect business drives and stop intending investors from accessing Ekiti for business.

He commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for quickly summoning emergency Security Meeting and contrive a roadmap through which the perpetrators can be arrested without further delay.

For the actions being contrived to nip  the situation in the bud to be effective, Bamisile urged the traditional rulers and other citizens to avail the state and security agencies of information that can help bridled the criminals’ actions.

The All Progressives Congress said Governor Oyebanji has ensured peaceful co-existence in Ekiti by mounting multi layers security architectures through injection of registered non-state actors like the Peace Corps, Amotekun Corps, local hunters and Vigilante group of Nigeria to work effectively with conventional forces to ward off criminals from the state .

“I consider these senseless killings as very sad and unacceptable. It is has started eliciting negative effusion and ripples that can affect investment. It sounded unfathomable that a group of individuals could be killing people in these gory manners.

“The police and other security agencies, including registered non state actors must work together to forestall exponential increase of these senseless carnages in our land.

“We all know how Governor Oyebanji and his team have been working tirelessly to set Ekiti on a faster pace of development. We shouldn’t allow evil doers to constitute a clog in the wheel of progress.

“Our traditional rulers and all our people across the state must rally round governor Oyebanji and the security agencies at this trying time by way of providing veracious information that can help the security agencies smash these criminal syndicates”, Bamisile said.
