The organized Labour under the aegis of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have shut down government offices and private businesses in Ekiti state.

This was in compliance with the nationwide strike declared by the national body of the unions.

The organized labour led by the NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo and the TUC secretary, Comrade Yomi Peters visited the state secretariat and some banks, where they compelled staff members to vacate the premises.

Addressing journalists, the NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo and the TUC secretary Comrade Yomi Peters said the union will not call off the strike except the government do the needful.

They noted that the strike was not avoidable considering the way federal government handled the negotiation process.
