The Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour party, Datti Baba-Ahmed has called on Nigerians to be at peace across the nation, urging supporters to vote for the party in next week’s governorship and house of assembly polls.

Baba-Ahmed made this call today in Abuja during a press conference on Wednesday, hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu as the winner of Saturday’s exercise.

Reacting to the results of the just concluded presidential election, he said Nigerian people are winners and are waiting patiently for the day Labour Party will be voted into power.

“We went into the election as Labour Party, we won as Labour Party, we will play out mandate as a party and we will rescue Nigeria as a party, he said

According to him, the LP will continue to hold the President Muhammadu Buhari administration accountable for a free and credible election and remains optimistic of a great outing come March 11 when the guber and house of assembly exercise takes place.

Baba-Ahmed maintained that no amount of pressure would get the Labour Party or its agents to preach against peace, adding that despite the outcome of the poll, they still have hope in Nigeria.

He further assured supporters that the party would seek legal redress, insisting that the election was not free and fair.
