The Lagos State Government has closed down Alaba International Market due to poor sanitation and other waste related offences.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab wrote on his X handle , former Twitter in the early hours of Monday.

“Alaba International Market, Ojo has been sealed up for poor waste disposal practices, failure to pay their waste bills, and gross environmental sanitation offences.”

Wahab also noted that the Lagos State Government, is still closing markets and destroying illegal structures, with the recent closure being Alaba International Market.

He added that Mile 12 International Market, Ladipo Auto Parts Market and Owode Onirin Market along Ikorodu Road were previously shut down due to improper waste disposal and more.
